One of the toughest parts about being a Fashionista is learning how to show off your personal style at all times. Unfortunately, not every single one of us has a glam squad that is ready to get us dolled up at all times. A lot of Fashionistas and Fashionistos are working men and women who have much more to do all day than choose an outfit, but this never stops a Fashionista. You know you’ve spotted a Fashionista when nothing gets in the way of their personal style.

This Fashionista is a hostess at a local bar and grill. Unless you’re Anna Wintour or Kim Kardashian, a good majority of us spend some time working under someone else (it’s okay, they did it too). I’m sure every Fashionista will understand what I mean when I say that being told what to wear is the second hardest thing on the planet. But whether you are a hostess or Starbucks employee, you understand that uniforms and restrictions can drive a girl crazy.

Fortunately, this Fashionista doesn’t have to wear a uniform, as long as she wears the colors black and white. She takes matters into her own hands and finds the cutest black and white patterned maxi dress. The dress features a high neck and is just the right amount of chic for a day at work. In a world of black slacks and white button-downs, she refuses to let her summer spirit die down at work. She pairs her dress with a pair of nude Steve Madden flats. She accessorizes with a gold watch and gold earrings which are hidden behind her hair. On her way in, she walks with her Michael Kors cross-body that works perfectly with her nude flats. She is living proof that going to work doesn’t mean you have to throw on a button-down. She incorporates her personal style in an outfit that is not only work appropriate, but something that she could finish her day off with.

How To: Are you sick and tired of wearing slacks to work? Look through your dress code and find ways that you can still incorporate who you are while on the clock. Experiment with different ways to stay work appropriate and stylish by playing with many of the pieces you already have in your closet. Follow this Fashionista and don’t be afraid to show off your feminine side in a dress. Start off by wearing a plain black maxi dress with a cardigan and soon enough you’ll be finding the cutest patterns to make your job a little less painful.
